A message from our team,
In February 2022 we ran our second Olympic School Challenge in the run up to the Winter Olympics, the Road to Beijing and had over 20,000 students take part.
In April we released our New! Transition Year post-primary programme and had over 400 schools sign up. In addition we added 6 new ambassadors to our squad and permanent TSB were announced as our sponsor.
From March to June we had our core 5th & 6th class programme running almost 50 school visits and started to see a small number of schools opening up for in-person visits after 2+ years of virtual visits!
In September we released our school visits are another 50 Ambassador slots were booked up in minutes! Visits began in October and ran right up to December. Our ambassadors were delighted to be able to return to primary and go to secondary schools in-person where possible.
In November we attended the Transition Year Expo at the National Sports Campus where our ambassadors gave sports demos, keynotes and spoke on panels.
Also, in November we hosted our first official Olympians Live! nationwide webinar event for over 12,000 primary and post-primary students. Olympic Medallists Eimear Lambe and Aifric Keogh shared their stories and you can watch the replay anytime.
In 2022, Dare to Believe programmes and activities reached over 49,000 students in 27 counties and worked with 31 Olympic and Paralympic ambassadors.
We want to thank everyone involved in helping the Dare to Believe Olympic Schools Programme to deliver an incredibly successful 2022 year.
We especially are thankful to our super star ambassadors, teacher consultants, sponsors permanent tsb and the IOC Olympic Solidarity funding which makes this programme possible in Ireland.
