2021 Year in Review

Here is a look back on all we accomplished in 2021

2021 Annual Report

Please find linked here our annual report LINK where we take a look back on what our programme accomplished during the year and also a look at ahead at what we are looking to accomplish in 2022.

Road to Tokyo Olympic School Challenge Recap

We kicked off 2021 by spending time listening to our teacher consultants who told us about the Education Department directive to focus on kids wellbeing.  Our teachers told us how devastating the closure of sports was for many students on top of the non-stop doom and gloom surrounding the pandemic.

In our effort to do our part to support teachers and motivate students to keep physically active safely, we created our first Olympic Schools Challenge- Road to Tokyo which included a new interactive platform and  many fun physical and cultural challenges.

We were blown away by the response from schools around the country, over 55,000 students took part. Reports from teachers told us how students were extremely motivated to be physically active and had a lot of fun doing the PE and Cultural challenges while also learning about Team Ireland Olympians on the virtual road to the Tokyo Olympics.  Prize winners were given to the most engaged schools. Check out the video and see for yourself!

Summer 2021: Olympic & Paralympic Games go ahead in Tokyo

Our amazing ambassadors competed their hearts out all summer long and 14 of them were rewarded by finally getting to compete in the Olympics and Paralympics in Tokyo. Of course we are immensely proud of all of Team Ireland’s athletes but were absolutely elated when Kellie Harrington took home the GOLD and Nicole Turner took home SILVER.  They are both such incredible athletes but also incredible role models.

Autumn 2021: Olympic Ambassador Virtual Visits

Our core 5th & 6th class, Dare to Believe programme, was back in full swing virtually in the Autumn.  While we can’t wait to get our Olympic ambassadors back into your classrooms,  we are proud of the way our amazing ambassadors and your eager students adapted and engaged on the virtual Olympic visits.
Our goal is to double our Ambassador Visits and Core programme next year and will have 100 visits up for grabs!
