Monika Dukarska was born in Poznan in Poland in 1990. She has relocated to Ireland with her family in November 2006 (at 16yo), with little English. Monika was always an active child, she’s played basketball but never excelled at it beyond school level. She took up rowing shortly after arriving in Ireland & joined Killorglin Rowing Club, which she is representing to this day.
Move to Ireland required Monika to work really hard at her studies (due to language barrier), which paid off when she got Honours Degree in Business Studies & secured scholarships for two Masters (Entrepreneurship & Mentorship and Innovation & Design) and is currently working on a PhD. Monika is also the Secretary & helps with coaching at the rowing club.
She is a strong advocate for giving back.
