Dare to Believe Olympic Ambassadors have been visiting schools the length and breath of Ireland so far this school term in 2025. In the first 5 months of the year, 27 our ambassadors visited over 55 schools in 24 counties telling their Olympic & Paralympic journey stories to over 10,000 students and spreading the Olympic spirit across the country.
Thomas Barr had yet another incredibly inspiring school visit at St. Laurence’s Catholic National School in Sallins, Co. Kildare where over 680 kids gathered in assemblies to hear Thomas’s unique story of following his joy in his athletics journey and staying in sport despite the lack of major success. After he refused to drop out of sport while at University, he found his stride in the 400m hurdles while under the watch of new coaches. Slowly but surely Thomas rose to the top of his sport and over his incredible career he amassed 3 major championhip medals for Ireland. He finished an antagonisly close to a medal at the Rio Olympics where he finished 4th, but won bronze at the European Championship, and then went on to win bronze at the World Relay Championships and Gold at the Europeans with the mixed relay in 2024. His message reinterates the benefits of staying in sport which fits nicely into the #StopTheDrop Allianz campaign.
Visits to All Corners of Ireland
This term we had 27 of our incredible role model ambassadors travel to 24 counties all over the country. We had so much many positive feedback from teachers after the visits. Check out some of the photos and images that were sent to us from schools lucky enough to get a visit.
