Mark Roche

Mark played schools for Blackrock College, U20s for Ireland in 2013, and won an AIL medal with Lansdowne in 2015, and says his switch to Sevens stardom was a happy accident. He was working as a Tag organiser in Lansdowne when a referee tapped him on the shoulder, told him he had a real talent for the shorter game and sent him a link to apply for an Irish trial.
Another nine-year stalwart who helped Ireland qualify for their first Olympics, he has scored 400 points in 173 World Series games. Mark is also a new dad – his son Cooper was born in June 2024.
